How To Build an AWESOME Salad!

To build the ultimate salad that will never bore you, make sure to do all of the following!


Step 1: choose one or more leafy greens (the darker the better)

  • lettuce
  • spinach
  • kale
  • arugula
  • romaine


Step 2: Choose one or more secondary vegetables

  • carrots
  • mushrooms
  • cucumber
  • celery
  • onions
  • avocado

Step 3: Choose a fruit. The fruit helps lighten it up a bit and gives you a pop of moisture here and there.
  • apple
  • orange (or citrus in general)
  • peach
  • pear
  • berries (blueberry, blackberry, raspberry,strawberry)
  • grapes
  • cherries
Step 4: Choose some dried fruit, nuts, and seeds. I love dried fruit on salads because it gives it a new texture.
  • raisins
  • craisins
  • prunes
  • dates
  • pistachios
  • cashews
  • pecans
  • almonds
  • macadamia
  • walnuts
  • hazelnuts
  • sunflower seeds
  • pumpkin seeds
Basically, anything you have on hand!


Step 5: Choose a protein.

  • shredded chicken
  • diced pork pieces
  • tuna
  • salmon

Aaand finally: the dressing. 


  • pre-made store-bought dressing
                OR
  • My ALL-TIME FAVORITE: Some apple cider vinegar, some olive oil, and some honey!! Yum! (Use a 3:1 ratio of olive oil to apple cider vinegar and a drizzle of honey!)

Now, enjoy the best salad EVER and be filled up with super healthy food!
